gratitude and dignity

Integrity and dignity go hand in hand. I have struggled a lot with this (these qualities) in my life thus far. Luckily, I have had some great role models to reinforce what this means on a daily basis.

Got lots of little things done yesterday, including dusting! I also created a sort of chart to keep track of things I've ordered. Kind of like what Mom used to do to keep track of things she has sent in - UPC codes, labels, etc. - to get money back or really good coupons for free stuff (that she'd actually use anyway).

I wanted to read this weekend, but to no avail - got hooked into watching the VMA's last night and that was that. Had a great chat with Dad, though. And got the grass cut as well as the string-trimming.

Really feeling grateful to have been missed by the latest hurricane. Last year, even though we were 90 miles from the center at one point, there was tremendous wind damage and massive power outages. This time, from the outer bands alone, as Katrina was well south of us I had a few HUGE branches fall that had been torn incompletely from their tree-base in last year's mess. I forgot how HEAVY those things are. I heaved them out from the plants they fell on and will cut them up today or this week sometime.

Today I will have a massage along with finishing up the laundry and cleaning and such and bring the huge bag of bags over to Publix and cardboard boxes to recycling.

Kind of tired but sort of even-keeled at the same time - it's more like tired in the life sense - working so hard this year keeping up.

G'day!
